What dentists are saying about the video
"I loved it. I think the idea for the choc swirl bites is fantastic,
and can't wait to use it."
Benjamin M. Schultz, DDS, MAGD
Trumbull, CT
"Great tape! I can't believe how you accomplished so much in so
little time. I picked up a lot of pearls and it made a difference in
my dentistry the very next day in the office."
Harvey S. Reiter, DMD
Washington, DC
Great educational CD tool Lorin and what a beautiful case too. I knew
you were great, I just didn't know you were that great.
Deborah Hartley, RDH
Lorin,
What a great deal! Watching the DVD, I learned some grea restorative
ideas in the comfort of my own home, and now to get valuable CE credit
is just a BONUS! Greg Notestine DDS, Accredited Member and Board of Director,
of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
Greg Notestine DDS
"One thing I understand as a 'newer' dentist getting into aesthetics
is the ability to learn many pearls and get upto speed quickly and inexpensively.
I have to honestly say that the Latest & Greatest video is such a
valuable asset to ANY dentist doing aesthetic dentistry. The video is
nicely categorized and very easy to follow. The topics covered are important
and relevant to today's dentistry. More importantly, it actually contains
useable material... it is not a teaser.. To sum the video up..... it
is an excellent value in education, full of information that is practical
and easy to implement, and covers an entire case from start to finish.
From a person who has spent 10's of thousands on education... this video
is an excellent avenue to introduce yourself to aesthetic dentistry."
Tarun Agarwal, DDS
"This CE program is worth much more than $200. It is really very
complete."
Claudio Levato
I am absolutely blown away by your DVD...yours is by far, the best video
I have ever seen... a tremendous contribution to the profession.
Dr. Scott Perkins
I can attest to what a great program this is. I viewed the DVD version
and really enjoyed it. Lorin will show you the nuts and bolts to assure
the successful completion of a case. Being a high tech junkie, it was
great to see all the new "toys" in action. The DVD version is
great because I could quickly refer back to sections to show my staff.
This is well worth the money.
Craig Callen
You know I think your full mouth rehab tape should go for almost twice
as much as what you are selling it for. Because the rewards are high and
the price of a full mouth case is not even a fraction of what the tape
goes for. I know you may try to keep the cost down for the dentists but
the reality is, a 300 hundred dollar investment to do a full mouth case
which will bring in approximately 25- 32k. This is a no brainer.
Mark Weitzman, DDS
The double lined temporary stint alone will be worth the $$$ of the
damn tape. Guys, don't be cheap, just get it!!!
Alan Cady
Lorin has created a single video that covers a complete cosmetic rehab
case from start to finish. It's like being able to look over his shoulder...
but BETTER! The video graphy is excellent. The narration is great, too.
Lorin's gregarious personality comes through in his narration. It's obvious
he's having fun. The video is divided up into easily
digestible segments that follow the sequence of treatment. It breaks
the whole process into bite-sized chunks, making it easier to understand
and
sort out in your mind. It confirms that every big case is a collection
of smaller cases. You just have to know how to break it down, put it
back
together, and then coordinate it so that it all works. The case covered
in this video is perfect because it involves several of the common cosmetic
challenges all wrapped up into one patient. The final result is dramatic.
I enjoyed it and I'm sure I'll be watching it over and over as time goes
on. Expose yourselves to a really fun side of dentistry. Imagine if you
even did just a few of these cases a year!"
Michael I. Barr, D.D.S.
I totally agree with Mike's review of Dr. Berland's DVD. Absolutely excellent!
I recently purchased it and I've picked up lots of gems I can use. Even
for just long span bridges, etc....the info in this DVD is excellent.
I especially love Dr. B's "CHOCOLATE SWIRL TECHNIQUE"...and
I definitely plan on implementing that when I do my bite registrations
from now on!! Anyone interested in cosmetic dentistry...who doesn't wanna
spend the tons of money {yet} on a course...should view this video. It
has definitely whet my appetite for further study!
Phillip
I received the video and DVD today. Wow! I must tell you your DVD is
the best educational tool I have seen! Superbly done! Extremely easy to
use. I was so impressed with your teaching and centeral abilities. Your
choice of DVD technology allows the video portions to be crystal clear.
Absolutely amazing. The narration, music, photos, layout...everything
was excellent and very impressive.
I picked up so many useful tips just in the first 15 minutes of watching
it. The narration and wonderful mix of video grabs your attention. What
a great learning tool. I got so excited I wanted to order new products
and get started immediately. There is just no educational tool like it.
Any dentist who watches it will love it.
Dr. Tom Parker
I just had a chance to look at the latest and greatest on DVD. Holy
cow, it is fantastic on DVD. The quality is unbelievable! I watched the
tape a month ago and thought it was great but the DVD, I can't believe
how entertaining it makes learning your techniques. This is a fantastic
video!
David L. Traub, DMD
The video is great...don't wait, get the video now.
Ron Kaminer, DDS
There are so many great tips...you will get back the cost in time and
improved technique the next day.
Tom Hedge, DDS
Lorin's video ROCKS! It creates a new standard in dental videography,
and defines the term "step-by-step." The accompanying manual
seemingly reduces what is true artistry to something almost like a paint-by-numbers
system. The video was so detailed I felt like I was doing the case myself.
Since the case was a difficult one, all kinds of nuances are demonstrated
that make anyone a better dentist, even me, an endodontist.
The poster included is among the best I've seen to generate interest
(a full-face, dramatic before and after new smile). Lorin, you are a great
dentist and an even better teacher. Your "Latest and Greatest"
gets five stars from Office Magic. It's hard to imagine a more complete
learning system for dentists interested in both practice-building and
centeral mastery.
Patrick Wahl, Office Magic
This video & manual is chock full of helpful info. He had a fantastic
interplay of the perio/restorative connection. His esthetic care was optimally
compatible with periodontal health. This is as close to being in Lorin's
office as being there. Believe me Lorin isn't holding anything back.
Michael Davis
Wow!! What a great video! Congratulations. I really enjoyed your production
from the beginning to the very end. It was everything I hoped it would
be. My mind is spinning. I watched it fully twice already.
I have really been juiced up with this video. Heck, I've got more out
of it than a whole day's tuition from some courses I've been on. Thank
you again for making me glad that I'm a dentist and still eager to learn
more.
Nick Rote
Much to be learned
Techniques, thought processes, materials, available
equipment, to name a few, can be had and put to good use
A head's
up on the newest and latest in cosmetic dentistry".
Marty Goldstein, DDS
So, I've finished watching Lorin's "Latest and Greatest" video,
and I'm all fired up! Tons of information, loaded with Pearls, and very
professionally done. I'll have to go back and see it again to make sure
I didn't miss anything. I was pleased to learn that I already own one
of Lorin's favorite restorative instruments, the all-important MIF. It's
really fantabulous!!!
Dr. Carolyn Schweitzer
It was better the second time around. He's giving it away at a ridiculously
low $199.
Thom Gleghorn
Everybody has to get this tape! There is much to admire how he does the
case, and explains everything as he goes along. I would advise anyone
interested in advancing their practice to get and watch it carefully.
Rick Coker
I think your new video is outstanding, and I am glad I was one of the
first to purchase it. That video will be of a great help to me for years
to come!
Ed McElroy, DDS
Just got done watching the DVD for the second time. A great, professional
production chocked full of great ideas. I feel that it was money more
than well spent. Thank you for your contribution to dentistry.

The Latest and Greatest in Cosmetic Dentistry
Dentistry Today, Sept. 2001
Lorin Berland, a well-known cosmetic dentist and educator, operates his
dental-spa out of Dallas, Texas. His recently released video,
The Latest & Greatest in Cosmetic Dentistry is just what the title
says it is; a plethora of techniques, materials and methods showcased
within a two appointment full mouth rehabilitation. When I say full
mouth I mean full mouth; twenty-six teeth are restored before your
very eyes from start to finish. Thank God for expedient editing. Were
privy to the core material only. The video runs about 90 minutes.
If youre a skier you may have run across the term Extreme
Skiing. It refers to that aspect of skiing that involves jumping
off cliffs, skiing wild ungroomed terrain or even being ushered to the
unexplored side of a mountain via helicopter. What does this have to do
with Dr. Bs case presentation? Well, in many respects, youre
looking at Extreme Dentistry. That is, restoring a case in this manner
is only for the highly confident practitioner that has many cosmetic cases
already under his belt and is privileged enough to work with several assistants.
In other words, dont try this at home without the supervision
of an adult might need to be stenciled on the box cover.
That said, I very much enjoyed Dr. Bs video. In fact, I
watched it three times and found that each time, I gleaned another gem
to take back to my own toils. The Latest and Greatest is so crammed with
valuable information, that you quickly forgive Dr. B for taking
on such an Extreme Example of cosmetics to make his points.
The story begins with a lovely young Texan woman in need
of a smile makeover. We first listen to her plight via video interview
and are then ushered through her work up that begins with digital imaging
and simulation via Digital Dentist, which is carried over to a full mock
up of the expected result. Dr. B, seated somewhat like the commentator
in Masterpiece Theatre, periodically comments in the first person on the
subject at hand, sharing with us his views on the importance of fully
understanding where you are going with the case before ever picking up
a handpiece. Great advice were sure!
Models, Xrays and diagnostic wax-up are explored.
When the prelims are out of the way, its off to the races. We find
ourselves neatly perched on Dr. Bs shoulder observing him
slice and dice his way through two entire arches of dental substrate with
efficiency and precision. He first preps, impresses and temporizes the
mandible and then hops upstairs to the maxilla. All the while he maintains
an accurate vertical dimension with what he terms as the chocolate
swirl technique. He never loses his bearings. I was fortunate enough
to put this technique to immediate use on a full maxillary rehab of my
own just days after viewing the video. Thanks, Lorin! When the smoke has
cleared, an assortment of Captek bridges and All-Porcelain restorations
of all shapes and sizes, including onlays, crowns and veneers are neatly
placed, creating a stunning new dentition.
I like knowing just what make and model gizmo Im looking at, not
to mention which materials are being used. And make no mistake, products
and materials abound. From electric handpieces
to Berland designed Shofu cutting and finishing kits, were witness
to a parade of the latest and greatest.
If you choose to add Dr. Bs video to your library, get ready
to hear about massive mercury fillings as a condition and
how the dental spa employs a message therapist-dental assistant. To each,
his own.
Dr. B, while unique in some of his views must be cited for his
thorough approach to the Latest and Greatest. No stone is left unturned
and the video is accompanied by an excellent color illustrated, 30 page
manual containing more than 250 pictures accompanied by easy to follow
explanations. It captures the essence of the 21-chapter video. By the
time you read this, the video will also be available in DVD. Anyone need
a reason to buy the office a new DVD player? Going price $199/VHS,
and $249/DVD at www.Lorinberland.com.
