Sheena Allen, DMD
A specialist in prosthodontics who incorporates a love of dentistry along with artistry and aesthetics.
Dr. Allen completed her Bachelor of Science degree at Grand Valley State University in Biomedical Sciences in three years. She went on to earn her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH in 2008 and graduated third in her class with high honors. Upon graduation from dental school, Dr. Allen was immediately accepted in the US Army’s Advanced Education in Prosthodontics Program at Fort Gordon, GA, where she received an in-depth understanding of dental ceramics and cosmetic dentistry, implants, temporomandibular disorders, sleep apnea, full-mouth rehabilitations, and occlusion.
The Army’s prosthodontic program is notorious for being extremely rigorous and challenging. While the three years of her residency were the most difficult of her life, the education she received was invaluable. Dr. Allen was dual trained as both a prosthodontist and lab technician, and because of this, she has additional knowledge and understanding of how dental restorations are made. She also received advanced training in digital dentistry, and is incredibly excited to incorporate this new technology into Dallas Dental Arts.
Upon completion of her residency, Dr. Allen applied for and was accepted to mentor at the US Army’s Advanced Education in Comprehensive Dentistry Program at Fort Hood, TX. Her lecture topics included implants, dental ceramics, and digital dentistry. She became an expert in these areas during her additional three years of prosthodontics training.
Dr. Allen has built her career in dentistry on education. As an associate professor for Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, which is the Army’s medical school, she was required to be at the forefront of dental procedures, materials, and literature. It was her responsibility to teach dentists the most modern approach to treatment while maintaining the highest quality.
Dr. Allen built a reputation in the Army of providing the highest quality dentistry with an exceptional patient experience. She wants nothing more than to continue that mantra into private practice here at Dallas Dental Arts.
Dr. Allen and her husband, Eric, have a ten-month-old son named Lucas. The family is excited to explore the city of Dallas together and welcomes your recommendations for local attractions.
